Fee Information
By law, the Consular Section is required to charge standard fees for most services before the services can be performed
The Consular Section uses the Consular Exchange rate, which may be different than the bank rate. As of the date this information is posted, the current consular exchange rate is 1 USD = 2000 MGA. This rate is subject to change without notice. Currently, the fee is 262,000 MGA
Effective January 1, 2009, BNI Madagascar Bank began accepting payment for non-immigrant visa applications. The fee must be paid in Madagascar Ariary (cash only, checks and money transfers are not accepted) and is accepted at any BNI Madagascar branch. The fee must be paid into the US Embassy account: 01 117 722 7 020 200
Applicants must bring both copies of the fee receipt to the interview appointment. Every applicant must have his/her own receipt. The receipt must state the name of the visa applicant in the “nom de remettant” space. If these instructions are not followed you will be turned away and have to make a new appointment.
Additional fees, such as reciprocity fees, will continue to be accepted only at the US Embassy once a visa has been approved
Visa Issuance Fees: Citizens of Comoros, as well as other nations, may be charged a visa issuance fee in addition to the $131 visa application fee. This fee varies depending on the type of visa and number of entries. For more information about the fees for different nationalities and visa types, see Reciprocity Fee Table.
