Press Center Guidelines
* Opening hours:
9:00a.m to 5:30pm.
* Who can join the Press Center?
All working journalists, attachés de presse and Ministry communication officers.
* To join
- Request a credential card from the US Embassy's Press Section
- Fill in a Subscription Form, available at the Press Center
- 02 Photos: 1 for file – 1 for the card
* Equipment access:
Phone/Fax:
Phone and Fax are strictly for professional use. Please limit all calls.
Maximum three calls per day per journalist.
Phone key is with the consultant when she/he is out. No international calls, please.
Internet:
Please respect other users who may be waiting. Each user may be limited to a 30-minute connection.
CD-Rom on Info USA and briefing sessions on surfing are also available.
List of search engines is available in "favorites" folder on the consultant's desk and on each PC. Each user must sign in each time they use any computer.
Copier:
Copier is strictly for professional use. More than 10 copies should receive prior approval from the consultant.
Printer:
Printer is strictly for professional use. Please limit your printing.
TV/Radio:
Any change of channel (TV or radio) should be agreed to by all journalists who are present.
If there is no consensus, the consultant will decide. Television is available on approved stations only.
Please see channel list posted. Audio/Video Cassettes are also available for loan.
* Coffee :
Coffee is available for journalists. We suggest a contribution of 250 fmg.
* Books, Tapes and Magazines:
For reading and, effective January 2003, for loan. The loan period is a week. It is renewable ONLY if no other journalist expresses the need to borrow the publication.
* Newspapers:
On-site reading only
* Suggestion Box:
Box for comments and criticism is available.
* Booking the Press Center conference room:
Room request (for meeting) should be delivered to the consultant a week before the event. Approval on a case-by-case basis.
