Visa Services

General Information

General Information on Non-Immigrant Visas:
Applicants should be aware that a visa does not guarantee entry into the United States. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has authority to deny admission. DHS, not the consular officer, determines how long the bearer of a visitor visa is authorized to remain in the United States.

Note on Country of Residence:
Applicants for non-immigrant visas should apply at the American Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Although visa applicants may apply at any U.S. consular office abroad, it will be difficult to qualify for a visa if applying outside the country of permanent residence.
