TheDiversity Visa Lotteryprogram is a Congressionally mandated program which allows for immigration to the United States from countries with historically low rates of immigration. The program makes available 50,000 diversity visas (DV) annually, drawn from a random selection among all entries to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements.
The entry registration period occurs from October 2 – November 30, 2009. You cannot apply for DV outside the official registration period.
